Parity Projects, Warmcell Room.

Building work for Parity Projects begins in earnest.
We have been busy this week constructing a new floor for for the room, using 225*50mm sawn and treated timber @360mm centers, This size was chosen in order to accommodate the pipe work for the underfloor heating ,it allows for larger 28mm notches and not only the extra weight of the 25mm screed but also that of a bathroom should there be a change of use in the future. The floor has been raised 250mm to allow for the raising of the kitchen ceiling at a later date.

The use of treated timber was due to the timber yards (literally a stones throw away) stock verses untreated timber transported from Kent some 60 miles away, this seemed like the ideal solution.
The small window in the north facing wall was bricked up ,using reclaimed bricks, then the stud-work for the inner wall (100*50mm), to accommodate the Warmcell and the support for the new ceiling, erected. 150mm of insulation for the outside walls, 50mm for the party wall and 160mm for the ceiling.
